Project Lead Engineer. Project entailed replacing the power supply of the existing PL 6.0PFC with a lower cost, non-PFC version. Requirement was for the replacement supply to be form and fit equivalent to the supply from the prior model while retaining the original power levels. I was responsible for architecture, layout and coordination with mechanical, Product Engineering (PD) and production teams to assure product met performance, cost and scheduling targets.
Description:
This project required the design and development of a 15+KW off-line LLC resonant power supply to power two channels of >3.5KW amplifier carried from the previous generation PL6.0-PFC product. This new product targeted the domestic market only as it lacked power factor correction and could not satisfy CE requirements. This product replaced the then current PL 6.0PFC amplifier.
